Michigan and the UM School of Public Health

The Spring/Summer 2012 issue of Findings magazine that I art directed and designed has just been published by the University of Michigan School of Public Health. It's a special issue that addresses the ways in which Michigan is representative of the challenges and opportunities facing public health today.

The main feature article focuses on the long history of SPH faculty and student service to the state and its citizens, in the context of the natural environment, Native Americans, immigration, Detroit, state public health policies, industrial issues, and the 21st century.

The gorgeous photo of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on the cover was taken by Richard Thompson, and the magazine also features photography by Peter Smith, Mike Savitski, and Steve Beck, and illustration by John Dykes, Michael McGowan, David Steinberg, and Dan Page.
