Human rights and its intersection with public health was the theme of this issue. The cover article focused on the work of Congolese physician Dr. Denis Mukwege, who has treated hundreds of women who have been brutally raped by soldiers of the competing forces in the long-running Congolese wars. In 2012 this issue received a Gold Award from the Ann Arbor Ad Club.
